How heavy is a 200 L drum?

Density decides how much a full drum weighs, which matters for forklifts, trucks and floor loading. A 200 L drum of water weighs about 200 kg. Lighter amines weigh less, while triethanolamine and diethanolamine are noticeably heavier.

Lighter than water Heavier than water 200 kg water line

Approximate liquid weight for 200 L at about 20–25 °C, excluding the drum. Actual net weight depends on fill level. Ask us for exact packed weights.

Questions West Bengal buyers ask

Tap a question to see our answer. If yours is not here, send it to us and we will reply directly.

Do you supply Kolkata and Howrah?
Yes. We supply paint, ink, leather, pharma, FMCG and trading businesses in Kolkata and foundry and engineering units in Howrah, including DMEA, triethanolamine, aniline, triethylamine and hexamine.
Do you serve Haldia's refinery and petrochemical units?
Yes. Haldia's refining, petrochemical and port-based plants can order gas treating amines such as monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, diisopropanolamine and piperazine, plus polyamines such as tetraethylenepentamine, in drums, IBC totes or tankers where the product allows.
Can you deliver to Durgapur and Asansol?
Yes. Steel, refractory, carbon black, cement and power plants in Durgapur and Asansol can order hexamine, boiler amines such as N,N-diethylethanolamine and morpholine, and octadecylamine.
Do you supply the Hooghly jute belt and Kalyani?
Yes. Jute and textile mills in Rishra, Serampore and Bansberia buy softener raw materials such as oleylamine and aminoethylethanolamine, and pharma and food units in Kalyani buy piperazine, methylamine and plant chemicals.
Which amines are used in Haldia's gas treating units?
Monoethanolamine and diethanolamine are general-purpose acid gas absorbers. Diisopropanolamine is chosen for selective H₂S removal, and piperazine is added as an activator to speed up CO₂ capture.
Which amine is used in refractory and foundry resins?
Hexamethylenetetramine is the standard curing agent for novolac phenolic resins used in resin-bonded refractories, shell moulds and friction materials. For cold-box cores, triethylamine is the usual catalyst.
Which amines protect steam systems in steel and power plants?
Morpholine, cyclohexylamine and N,N-diethylethanolamine neutralise carbonic acid in condensate lines, and octadecylamine is used as a filming amine. Dosing should follow your water treatment specialist's programme.
Which amines are used in leather finishing?
Triethanolamine and DMEA act as emulsifiers and neutralisers in fatliquors and finishing binders, aniline is a starting point for leather dyes, and ethylenediamine is a raw material for sequestering agents.
How should amines be stored during the monsoon?
Keep drums sealed, since many amines absorb moisture and CO₂ from humid air. Store them on pallets above any flood level, keep labels and paperwork dry, and check bunds before heavy rain.
What does "TEA" or "DEA" mean on an enquiry?
The abbreviations are ambiguous. TEA can mean triethylamine or triethanolamine, and DEA can mean diethylamine or diethanolamine. Please write the full name and CAS number on your enquiry.
Which grades, packing and documents are available?
Most major products come in Commercial, LR and AR grades. Packing is in HDPE drums (25 L and 200 L) and IBC totes (1000 L), with cylinders for gaseous amines and tankers for monoethanolamine. Each dispatch carries a COA, MSDS/SDS, HSN code details and packing information.
How do I request a quote and what is the minimum order?
Open the contact us page and share the chemical's full name, grade, quantity, packing and delivery city. Minimum quantities depend on product and packing, and we usually respond within 24 hours. You can also read about us.
