How we work

Five things Kerala buyers tell us actually matter

A chemical supply relationship is judged on the boring things: the right grade, the right paperwork, packing that survives a wet season, and material arriving when the line needs it.

01

One range, most of your list

From the rubber belt to the refinery, a single supplier can cover the bulk of your amine requirement.

  • Ethanolamines for compounding, cleaning and formulation
  • Neutralising amines for boiler and condensate circuits
  • Cyclic and aromatic amines for pharma and rubber chemistry
  • Fatty amines for fertiliser anti-caking and mineral-sand flotation
02

Grades chosen for the job, not the catalogue

The same chemical name can mean very different things on a shop floor and in a QC lab. We match the grade to the use.

  • Commercial grade for bulk process and utility use
  • LR grade for routine laboratory and pilot work
03

Paperwork that clears stores on the first try

Every dispatch arrives with the documents your stores, QC and accounts teams will ask for.

  • Batch-wise COA for each consignment
  • MSDS/SDS with every shipment, ahead of first use on request
  • HSN code details for correct GST invoicing and input credit
  • Packing lists and batch traceability for audit trails
04

Packing that respects the climate

Kerala gets two monsoons and high year-round humidity. Hygroscopic products need to arrive sealed and stay that way.

  • HDPE drums in 25 L and 200 L
  • IBC totes at 1000 L for bulk consumers
05

Dispatch planned around your run, and the rain

Delivery timing is planned with your production schedule and the state's seasonal logistics in mind.

  • Road and rail movement across the state
  • Schedules adjusted through the monsoon months
  • Standing arrangements for repeat and bulk orders
  • Export-linked paperwork for port-side buyers in Kochi

Quick guide

Not sure which one you need?

Six questions we get asked often enough that it is worth answering up front. If your case is not covered here, describe the application when you send the enquiry.

I need to protect condensate lines

Steam carries the treatment chemical with it, so you need an amine that volatilises and neutralises downstream.

→ Cyclohexylamine, often with morpholine

I need to strip CO₂ or H₂S from a gas stream

Primary and secondary ethanolamines are the standard absorbents, chosen on loading and regeneration duty.

→ Monoethanolamine or diethanolamine

I need to buffer and stabilise a latex compound

A tertiary amino alcohol holds pH without adding volatile alkalinity to the mix.

→ Triethanolamine

I need an epoxy hardener or curing agent

Cycloaliphatic and ethyleneamine hardeners cure epoxy coatings, adhesives and laminates at different speeds and toughness.

→ Isophorone diamine or triethylenetetramine

I need a two-nitrogen building block

Diamines open the door to chelating agents, epoxy hardeners and dithiocarbamate chemistry.

→ Ethylenediamine or hexamethylenediamine

I need a collector for mineral-sand flotation

Cationic fatty amines adsorb onto silicate surfaces and float them away from the valuable minerals, with chain length chosen to suit the ore.

→ Dodecylamine or octadecylamine

Movement by road or rail planned around your run and the season. Repeat orders follow the same route and schedule.

Safe handling

Before the first drum arrives

Amines are workable, well-understood chemicals, but they reward preparation. A short checklist before delivery saves a lot of trouble on the shop floor.

Five-minute checklist

Run through this with your stores and production team ahead of delivery.

  • Confirm the exact chemical name and CAS, not just the abbreviation
  • Decide where it will be stored: drums, IBC totes or a tank
  • Check unloading access, transfer pumps and earthing arrangements
  • Keep the MSDS/SDS at the point of use, not only in the office file
  • Plan how amine-bearing wash water will be collected and treated
Storage in a humid, high-rainfall climate
  • Cool, well-ventilated area away from heat and ignition sources
  • Keep liquid amines below 30 °C; gaseous amines cool in suitable cylinders
  • Keep hygroscopic products — triethanolamine, ethylenediamine, piperazine — tightly sealed through the monsoon
  • Store away from oxidising agents, strong acids and halogens
  • Raise drums off wet flooring and check for standing water after heavy rain
Personal protective equipment
  • Chemical-resistant nitrile or neoprene gloves
  • Splash goggles, with a face shield added for bulk transfers
  • Half-face respirator with organic vapour cartridge for liquid amines
  • Self-contained breathing apparatus for concentrated gas handling
  • Chemical apron and closed footwear at transfer points
First aid
  • Skin: flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, removing contaminated clothing
  • Eyes: irrigate for 15–20 minutes and see an eye specialist
  • Inhalation: move to fresh air and give oxygen if breathing is laboured
  • Swallowed: rinse the mouth, do not induce vomiting, get emergency care
  • Keep an eyewash station and safety shower within reach of the handling area
Transport and packaging
  • Liquid amines in HDPE drums (25 L, 200 L) and IBC totes (1000 L)
  • Gaseous amines in pressurised steel cylinders
  • UN-specification containers with correct hazard labelling
  • Road, rail and sea movement per applicable dangerous goods rules
  • Tanker supply available for monoethanolamine where volumes justify it
Fire and spill response
  • Fire: dry chemical, CO₂ or alcohol-resistant foam
  • Spill: absorb with sand or earth and collect in suitable closed containers
  • Never wash spills into drains or backwater channels
  • Evacuate and ventilate thoroughly after any gas leak
  • Keep spill kits stocked near storage, not in a distant store room
Paperwork, effluent and regulations
  • Correct HSN codes on every invoice for GST and input credit
  • Some chemicals need additional paperwork depending on end use — we flag this at quotation stage
  • Amine-bearing effluent must be treated before discharge
  • Export documents prepared to suit the destination country
  • Batch records retained so traceability questions can be answered later
Plain terms

A short glossary for enquiries

Most mix-ups on a chemical enquiry come down to vocabulary. These are the terms worth pinning down before you send one.

COACertificate of Analysis — the test results for the specific batch you received, not a generic specification sheet.
MSDS / SDSSafety Data Sheet covering hazards, handling, storage, PPE, first aid and disposal for the product.
HSN codeThe classification code that determines GST treatment on your invoice and supports input credit claims.
Commercial gradeBulk process quality, suitable for utility, formulation and general manufacturing duty.
LR gradeLaboratory Reagent — cleaner than commercial, suited to routine lab and pilot work.
AR gradeAnalytical Reagent — the tightest specification, for analysis and sensitive synthesis.
IBC toteIntermediate Bulk Container, typically 1000 L, handled by forklift and fitted with a bottom discharge valve.
Neutralising amineA volatile amine that travels with steam and raises condensate pH to limit acid corrosion.
HygroscopicReadily absorbs moisture from air — a real consideration in Kerala's humidity, so keep containers sealed.
TEAAmbiguous: can mean triethylamine or triethanolamine. Always write the full name and CAS.
DEAEqually ambiguous: diethylamine or diethanolamine. Different molecules, different uses, different price.
Flash pointThe lowest temperature at which vapour forms an ignitable mixture — it drives your storage and transfer precautions.
FAQ

Questions Kerala buyers ask

Short, practical answers. If yours is not covered, contact us and we will reply directly.

Which chemicals do you supply in Kerala?
Our range runs to 47 amines across aliphatic, cyclic, alkanolamine, polyamine, aromatic and fatty families, including triethanolamine, diethanolamine, monoethanolamine, cyclohexylamine, morpholine, ethylenediamine, isophorone diamine, methylamine, trimethylamine, triethylamine, aniline, piperazine, piperidine, hexamine and octadecylamine. The complete list is on our products page.
Do you supply Kochi and the Eloor / Udyogamandal belt?
Yes — both are priority locations for us. Kochi buyers typically order alkanolamines, pharma intermediates and formulation raw materials, while the Eloor-Udyogamandal fertiliser and pesticide plants order synthesis intermediates such as ethylenediamine and aniline, plus anti-caking amines. Packing runs from 25 L drums to IBC totes, with tankers where the product allows.
Can you deliver to the Ambalamedu refinery zone?
Yes. Refinery and petrochemical units at Ambalamedu commonly order monoethanolamine and diethanolamine for acid-gas treating, and cyclohexylamine and morpholine for steam and condensate protection. Dispatch is planned around shutdown and turnaround windows, with tanker supply available for monoethanolamine.
Do you serve Thiruvananthapuram?
Yes. The capital's pharma, nutraceutical and ayurveda formulators order heterocyclic building blocks such as piperazine and N-methylmorpholine, and amino alcohols such as triethanolamine, often in LR or AR grade and in smaller 25 L packs suited to formulation and pilot batches.
Which other Kerala districts do you cover?
Alongside the priority locations we regularly supply Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kannur, Malappuram, Kasaragod, Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Wayanad. Share the delivery location with your enquiry and the dispatch plan is confirmed with your quote.
Which amines are used in rubber and latex processing?
Cyclohexylamine and morpholine are common raw materials for vulcanisation accelerators, diethylamine and piperidine feed related accelerator chemistry, diphenylamine is a base for rubber antioxidants, and triethanolamine acts as a pH buffer and stabiliser in latex compounds. The right combination depends on your compound recipe, so describe the application and we will help you narrow it down.
Which chemicals treat boilers and steam lines?
Cyclohexylamine and morpholine are the neutralising amines most often used in steam and condensate systems, and octadecylamine is the classic filming amine — all relevant to refinery, power, rubber-drying and food-processing boilers across the state. Dosing depends on your boiler chemistry and should follow your water-treatment specialist's programme.
Do you supply fatty amines for mineral-sand and fertiliser plants?
Yes. Dodecylamine, octadecylamine and oleylamine are used as flotation collectors on the Kollam mineral-sand coast and as anti-caking agents for fertiliser granules at Eloor. They are toxic to aquatic life, so spills and wash water must never reach drains or backwaters.
Do you supply epoxy curing agents for plywood and coatings?
Yes. Isophorone diamine, triethylenetetramine and diethylenetriamine are used to cure epoxy coatings, adhesives and laminates, while hexamethylenetetramine is a hardener for phenolic resins in board manufacture. Ask for the SDS before first use, since these amines are skin sensitisers.
What do "TEA" and "DEA" mean on an enquiry?
They are ambiguous and cause real problems. TEA can mean triethylamine or triethanolamine; DEA can mean diethylamine or diethanolamine. Each pair contains two completely different chemicals with different uses and prices, so always write the full name and the CAS number.
Which grades, packing and documents are available?
Most major products come in Commercial, LR and AR grades. Triethanolamine is offered as technical, 85% and 99%; diethanolamine as technical and 99%. Packing is in HDPE drums (25 L and 200 L) and IBC totes (1000 L), with cylinders for gaseous amines and tankers for monoethanolamine. Every dispatch carries a batch COA, MSDS/SDS, HSN code details and packing information.
How does the monsoon affect delivery and storage?
Kerala sees both the south-west and north-east monsoons, and heavy rainfall can affect road movement and raise humidity around storage areas. We plan dispatch schedules with that in mind, and recommend raising drums off wet flooring and keeping hygroscopic products such as triethanolamine, ethylenediamine and piperazine tightly sealed through the season.
Do you support export orders from Kochi?
Yes. Send the product, quantity and destination country, and we prepare paperwork suited to the destination and pack in UN-specification containers with the correct hazard labelling.
How do I request a quote, and what is the minimum order?
Open the contact us page and share the chemical's full name, grade, quantity, packing and delivery location. Minimum quantities depend on the product, grade and packing. A complete enquiry usually gets a response within 24 hours. You can also read about us to know more about Chelora Amines.
