Storage and safety for amines

General guidance for receiving and handling amines at your site. Always follow the SDS supplied with each product.

Storage

  • Cool, shaded and ventilated area, away from heat and ignition
  • Volatile amines below 30 °C, gaseous amines in suitable cylinders
  • Separate from oxidisers, strong acids and halogens
  • Warm storage for DEA, MEA and TEA in winter

Protective equipment

  • Nitrile or neoprene gloves
  • Splash goggles and a face shield for bulk transfer
  • Organic vapour respirator for liquid amines
  • Breathing apparatus for concentrated gas handling

First aid

  • Skin: flush with water for at least 15 minutes
  • Eyes: irrigate for 15–20 minutes, see a specialist
  • Inhalation: move to fresh air, give oxygen if needed
  • Swallowed: rinse mouth, do not induce vomiting

Transport and packaging

Which chemicals do you supply in Haryana?

Which amines go into coolants for auto plants?
Triethanolamine, diethanolamine and monoisopropanolamine are the usual choices, acting as pH buffers, rust inhibitors and alkalinity sources. Cyclohexylamine is used for vapour-phase protection of stored parts.
Which amines are used in the Panipat refinery belt?
Monoethanolamine, diethanolamine and diisopropanolamine are used for acid gas removal. Morpholine, cyclohexylamine and N,N-diethylethanolamine protect steam lines, and octadecylamine is used as a filming amine and anti-caking agent.
Do you supply hexamine for resin and rubber users?
Yes. Hexamethylenetetramine is in our range as a curing agent for novolac phenolic resins and as an accelerator and bonding agent in rubber compounds.
Is MOCA safe to handle?
MOCA is classified as a human carcinogen, so it must be handled in closed systems with full PPE and exposure monitoring. We provide the SDS before first supply and recommend reviewing it with your safety team.
What does "TEA" or "DEA" mean on an enquiry?
The abbreviations are ambiguous. TEA can mean triethylamine or triethanolamine, and DEA can mean diethylamine or diethanolamine. Please write the full name and CAS number on your enquiry.
Which grades, packing and documents are available?
Most major products come in Commercial, LR and AR grades. Packing is in HDPE drums (25 L and 200 L) and IBC totes (1000 L), with cylinders for gaseous amines and tankers for monoethanolamine. Each dispatch carries a COA, MSDS/SDS, HSN code details and packing information.
How should amines be stored in Haryana's climate?
Low flash point amines such as triethylamine and isopropylamine need shaded storage below 30 °C in summer. In winter, diethanolamine, monoethanolamine and triethanolamine can thicken or solidify, so plan warm storage or drum heating.
