How we work

Five things buyers here actually judge us on

A chemical supply relationship is decided by unglamorous things: the right grade, paperwork that clears incoming inspection first time, packing sized to the batch, and material arriving when the line needs it.

01

One range, most of your list

From the assembly lines at Pantnagar to the formulation blocks at Selaqui, a single supplier covers the bulk of the requirement.

  • Cyclic amines, bases and building blocks for pharma and intermediate work
  • Alkanolamines for coolants, cutting fluids and cleaning chemistry
  • Diamines and polyamines for epoxy, polyamide and resin chemistry
  • Fatty and aromatic amines for surfactant, dye and polymer work
02

Grade chosen for the job, not the catalogue

The same chemical name at two purities is effectively two different products on a shop floor. We quote against the specification you send.

  • Commercial grade for bulk process and utility duty
  • LR grade for routine laboratory and pilot work
  • AR grade where analytical purity decides the outcome
  • Assay, appearance and moisture stated on the batch COA
03

Paperwork that clears stores first time

Pharma and food plants run tighter incoming checks than most sectors. The documents travel with the drum.

  • Batch COA tied to the lot number on the container
  • MSDS/SDS with every shipment, in advance on request
  • HSN code details for correct GST invoicing and input credit
  • Packing list and batch traceability for audit trails
04

Seasonal handling planned in advance

Winter and monsoon both cause avoidable trouble at the unloading bay if nobody plans for them.

  • Winter guidance for products that thicken or solidify in the cold
  • Monsoon sealing advice for hygroscopic solids
  • Low-flash items flagged for cool, vented, closed storage
  • Delivery windows adjusted when hill routes are affected
05

Repeat supply that stays identical

Once a grade is validated into a process, changing it is expensive. Consistency is the whole point of the relationship.

  • Same grade and specification on every repeat dispatch
  • Standing schedules for continuous-consumption items
  • Road and rail movement through the plains corridor
  • Advance notice where a specification change is unavoidable
By sector

What each Uttarakhand sector usually buys

Six sectors, the products they draw on most, and what each one actually does in the process. Every product name links to its own page.

03

FMCG, food & beverage

Rudrapur · Haldwani · Pantnagar

A dense set of food, beverage, personal-care and household-product lines, where cleaning chemistry and utility protection matter as much as the formulation.

04

Pulp, paper & packaging

Kashipur · Khatima · Sitarganj

Large paper and board operations with heavy steam loads, alongside converting and packaging units through the rest of the tarai belt.

05

Agro & agro-processing

Bazpur · Sitarganj · Jaspur · Khatima

The tarai is Uttarakhand's farming heartland, and the processing that follows draws on a small, steady set of chemistries.

06

Paints, resins & construction

Bhagwanpur · Roorkee · Haridwar

Coating, adhesive and construction-chemical units use amines as neutralisers, hardener raw materials and additive intermediates.

Monoethanolamine

MEA · Ethanolamine · CAS 141-43-5 C₂H₇NO

The smallest of the ethanolamines, carrying a strongly basic primary amine and an alcohol group on the same short chain. That dual character makes it both a reactive intermediate and a dependable alkalinity source, which is why cleaning lines, paper mills and fibre processors all keep it on hand. It has a distinct ammoniacal odour and yellows on long exposure to air.

Triethylamine

TEA (tertiary amine) · CAS 121-44-8 C₆H₁₅N

A tertiary amine with three ethyl groups, hindered enough to act as a base without behaving as a nucleophile — which is why it is the default acid scavenger in acylation and coupling steps. It boils at 89 °C so it strips off easily, and the same volatility makes it the catalyst gas behind cold-box foundry core making.

Piperidine

Hexahydropyridine · CAS 110-89-4 C₅H₁₁N

A saturated six-membered ring with a single nitrogen — one of the strongest common amine bases, and a ring system that turns up throughout medicinal chemistry. It doubles as a catalyst for condensation reactions and as a building block in its own right, which is why the Dehradun valley plants order it regularly.

Isophorone Diamine

IPDA · 3-Aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylamine · CAS 2855-13-2 C₁₀H₂₂N₂

A cycloaliphatic diamine with one primary amine on the ring and one on a side arm, so the two groups react at different rates. That asymmetry, and the bulky trimethylcyclohexane core, is why it gives tough, light-stable cures in epoxy flooring and coatings, and why it is also the raw material behind cycloaliphatic diisocyanates for polyurethane.

Handling data

Flash point decides your storage

Flash point is the lowest temperature at which a liquid gives off enough vapour to form an ignitable mixture in air. It is the most practical single figure for planning storage, transfer and electrical fittings — more so than boiling point, because a product can boil high and still ignite at room temperature.

Below 23 °C — extremely or highly flammable. Flameproof storage, earthing and bonding, closed transfer only.
23 – 60 °C — flammable. Keep away from ignition sources and control vapour build-up in the area.
Above 60 °C — combustible rather than flammable, but still not to be stored near heat.

Figures are typical closed-cup values and vary with grade and test method. Always work from the SDS for the batch you actually received. Contact us for handling guidance on any product in the range.

Values in °C, closed cup, approximate. Scale runs from −40 °C to 180 °C.

Ordering

From enquiry to the plant gate

Five short steps, with the guesswork removed at both ends. The tighter your first message, the faster a usable quote comes back — start on the contact us page and we take it from there.

01

Send the specification

Full chemical name with CAS, grade, assay limit if your QC checks one, quantity, pack size and the delivery address. Write triethylamine or triethanolamine rather than TEA — the abbreviation covers two different products.

02

We check the fit

We match grade, strength and pack size to the way you will actually use it, and flag anything needing extra paperwork now rather than at dispatch.

03

Quote comes back

Price, minimum quantity, packing and an indicative dispatch window, usually within 24 hours of a complete enquiry.

04

Documents readied

Batch COA, MSDS/SDS, HSN code details and the packing list prepared against your order, so incoming inspection has everything on arrival.

05

Dispatch and repeat

Road or rail movement through the plains corridor, planned around your schedule. Repeat orders follow the same grade, pack and route.

Safe handling

Before the first drum arrives

Several products in this range are low-flash flammables or corrosive liquids, and the season adds its own complications. A short preparation round saves a great deal of trouble at the unloading bay.

Pre-delivery checklist

Worth running through with stores, QC and production together.

  • Confirm the exact chemical name and CAS, not just an abbreviation
  • Confirm the grade and any assay limit your process depends on
  • Check flameproof storage, earthing and bonding for low-flash items
  • Decide where solids will sit so they stay dry and sealed
  • Keep the MSDS/SDS at the point of use, not only in the office file
  • Plan how amine-bearing effluent will be collected and treated
Storage through the seasons
  • Cool, well-ventilated area away from heat and ignition sources
  • Keep liquid amines below 30 °C and gaseous amines cool, upright and secured
  • Winter: diethanolamine and hexamethylenediamine solidify in an unheated store — plan gentle warming before transfer
  • Monsoon: keep hygroscopic solids such as piperazine and hexamethylenediamine sealed and off damp flooring
  • Store away from oxidising agents, strong acids and halogens
Flammables and static control
  • Diethylamine, triethylamine, isopropylamine, tert-butylamine and piperidine all flash below room temperature
  • Earth and bond drums, pumps and receiving vessels before every transfer
  • Use non-sparking tools and flameproof fittings in the decanting area
  • Amine vapour is often heavier than air — ventilate pits and low-lying areas
  • No hot work anywhere near the storage or transfer point
Personal protective equipment
  • Chemical-resistant nitrile or neoprene gloves, changed regularly
  • Splash goggles, plus a face shield for bulk transfers
  • Half-face respirator with organic vapour cartridge for liquid amines
  • Self-contained breathing apparatus for concentrated gas handling
  • Extra care with skin-absorbing products such as aniline and the aromatic diamines
First aid
  • Skin: flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, removing contaminated clothing
  • Eyes: irrigate for 15–20 minutes and see an eye specialist
  • Inhalation: move to fresh air and give oxygen if breathing is laboured
  • Swallowed: rinse the mouth, do not induce vomiting, get emergency care
  • Keep an eyewash station and safety shower within reach of the handling area
Transport, packing and spills
  • Liquids in HDPE drums (25 L, 200 L) and IBC totes (1000 L)
  • Gaseous amines in pressurised steel cylinders with valve protection
  • UN-specification containers with correct hazard labelling
  • Spill: absorb with sand or earth, collect in closed containers, never wash to drain
  • Fire: dry chemical, CO₂ or alcohol-resistant foam
Paperwork, effluent and regulations
  • Correct HSN codes on every invoice for GST and input credit
  • Some products need additional paperwork depending on end use — we flag this at quotation stage
  • Aromatic diamines such as MOCA, MDA and TDA carry carcinogen or sensitiser classifications — closed handling and exposure records apply
  • Amine-bearing effluent must be treated before discharge
  • Batch records retained so traceability questions can be answered later
Plain terms

Enquiry vocabulary, in plain words

Most delays on a chemical enquiry come from two sides meaning different things by the same word. These are the ones worth settling first.

AssayThe measured strength of the active substance in that batch, stated as a percentage on the COA.
COACertificate of Analysis — test results for the exact lot delivered, not a generic product sheet.
MSDS / SDSSafety Data Sheet covering hazards, handling, storage, PPE, first aid and disposal.
HSN codeClassification code that sets GST treatment on the invoice and supports input credit.
Lot / batch numberThe identifier on the container tying the material to its COA and traceability record.
Flash pointLowest temperature at which vapour forms an ignitable mixture — it drives storage precautions.
pKaA measure of basic strength; higher means a stronger base, and usually a more aggressive one.
Acid scavengerA base added to absorb acid released during a reaction so the product is not degraded.
HygroscopicReadily takes up moisture from air — the reason certain solids cake during the monsoon.
IBC toteIntermediate Bulk Container, usually 1000 L, forklift-handled with a bottom discharge valve.
TEA / DEAAmbiguous abbreviations — each covers two different products. Write the full name and CAS.
MOQMinimum order quantity; varies by product, grade and pack, confirmed with the quote.
FAQ

Questions Uttarakhand buyers ask

Short, practical answers. If yours is not here, contact us and we will reply directly.

Which chemicals do you supply in Uttarakhand?
Our range runs to 47 products across five chemistry families, including monoethanolamine, diethylamine, triethylamine, hexamethylenediamine, piperidine, isophorone diamine, cyclohexylamine, morpholine, piperazine, aniline, the ethanolamines and isopropanolamines, the ethylene polyamines and a set of fatty amines. The complete list is on our products page.
Do you supply the Haridwar SIDCUL estate?
Yes — Haridwar is our largest destination in the state. Plants there order alkanolamines for coolants and cleaning, neutralisers for paint shops, utility treatment amines for captive boilers, and formulation raw materials for the FMCG and pharma units in the estate. Packing runs from 25 L drums to IBC totes.
Can you deliver to Pantnagar and Rudrapur?
Yes. Automotive and component plants at Pantnagar order metalworking and foundry chemistry along with polyamide raw materials, while Rudrapur's FMCG, food and engineering units order cleaning alkalinity, surfactant intermediates and utility treatment products. Dispatch is planned by road through the Moradabad–Rudrapur corridor around your production schedule.
Do you serve Selaqui and the Dehradun valley?
Yes. The Selaqui pharma estate and formulators around Dehradun typically order LR and AR grades in smaller pack sizes — piperidine, piperazine, triethylamine, N-methylmorpholine and diisopropylamine come up most often, with batch documentation for incoming inspection.
Do you supply Kashipur, Sitarganj and the rest of Udham Singh Nagar?
Yes. Kashipur's paper and distillery operations order condensate treatment amines and chelant raw materials; Sitarganj's pharma, textile and agro units order intermediates, dyeing auxiliaries and agrochemical amines. We also serve Bazpur, Jaspur, Khatima and Haldwani.
Which amines are used in metalworking fluids and coolants?
Triethanolamine, diethanolamine and monoethanolamine are the usual choices, acting as pH buffers, rust inhibitors and alkalinity reserves. Cyclohexylamine gives vapour-phase corrosion protection for stored parts, and triethylamine is the standard catalyst gas in cold-box foundry core making. The right mix depends on your formulation, so share the application and we will help you narrow it.
Which products treat boilers and condensate lines?
Cyclohexylamine and morpholine are the neutralising and filming-type amines commonly used in steam and condensate systems — relevant to the paper mills at Kashipur and to captive utilities across the SIDCUL estates. Ethylenediamine is the raw material behind EDTA-type chelating agents used for scale control. Dosing should follow your water-treatment specialist's programme.
What is the difference between diethylamine and diethanolamine?
They are entirely different products sharing the abbreviation DEA. Diethylamine is a volatile, extremely flammable secondary amine boiling at 55 °C, used as a base and intermediate. Diethanolamine is a thick amino alcohol boiling at 268 °C that solidifies near room temperature. The same problem applies to TEA — triethylamine versus triethanolamine. Always write the full name and CAS number.
Which amines are used as epoxy hardeners and in polyamide chemistry?
Isophorone diamine, ethylenediamine, diethylenetriamine, triethylenetetramine, tetraethylenepentamine and hexamethylenediamine are the usual choices. Isophorone diamine gives tough, light-stable cures for flooring and coatings, the ethylene polyamines cure quickly at ambient temperature, and hexamethylenediamine is the classic polyamide building block. Aromatic diamines such as MOCA and MDA are used as curatives in polyurethane and higher-temperature systems, under closed handling. Tell us the system and cure schedule and we will help match the amine.
Which grades, packing and documents are available?
Most major products come in Commercial, LR and AR grades. Packing is in HDPE drums (25 L and 200 L) and IBC totes (1000 L), with cylinders for gaseous amines and sealed bags or drums for solids. Every dispatch carries a batch COA, MSDS/SDS, HSN code details and packing information. The table above sets out which combination usually applies.
How does the weather affect delivery and storage here?
The plains belt stays accessible year round, but two things are worth planning for. In winter, diethanolamine and hexamethylenediamine can solidify in an unheated store and need gentle warming before transfer. In the monsoon, hygroscopic solids cake if bags are not properly sealed, so keep them dry and off wet flooring.
Can you match a specification our QC team has fixed?
Send the specification along with the enquiry — assay limit, appearance, moisture, or any other parameter you control against. We will tell you plainly whether the available grade meets it before anything is dispatched, rather than after it reaches your gate.
Do you handle repeat and scheduled orders?
Yes, and for a validated process that is usually the right arrangement. Repeat orders follow the same grade, pack and route, so nothing shifts underneath your process. Tell us your consumption rate and we will suggest a schedule.
How do I request a quote, and what is the minimum order?
Open the contact us page and share the chemical's full name and CAS, grade, quantity, packing and delivery location. Minimum quantities depend on the product, grade and pack size, and we respond within 24 hours on a complete enquiry. You can also read about us to know more about Chelora Amines.
