Monoethanolamine (MEA)
CAS 141-43-5Gas sweetening, heavy-duty detergents and pH control in metalworking fluids.
Amines, chelating agents and micronutrient chelates delivered to plants in Tarapur, Mahad, Taloja, Chakan, Waluj and Butibori — with a batch certificate of analysis on every consignment and dispatch confirmed the same working day.
Maharashtra runs on chemistry. API units in Tarapur and Mahad, agrochemical formulators around Nagpur and Nashik, textile processing houses in Ichalkaranji and Bhiwandi, cement grinding units in Chandrapur, and effluent treatment plants inside every MIDC estate all draw on the same short list of amines and chelating agents — and all of them lose money when a drum arrives late or off-spec.
We hold stock close to the belts that consume it. Orders for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Palghar and Raigad move the same day from our despatch point; Vidarbha, Marathwada and the southern districts are served on a scheduled truck rotation rather than on ad-hoc bookings, which is what keeps lead times predictable during monsoon and festival weeks.
Every consignment leaves with a batch-linked certificate of analysis, a current safety data sheet and a technical data sheet, so your stores and QC teams can clear material without chasing paperwork after the fact. Read more about how we work, or browse the full chemical range on our home page.

Assay, appearance, moisture, pH and heavy metals reported against the batch number printed on the pack, not a generic specimen sheet.
A sealed sample from every dispatched lot is held so a query months later can be settled against the actual material you received.
For a first order or a changed grade, we send a trial quantity for your plant trial before the full consignment moves.

What each family is actually good for, what goes wrong with it, and how it should sit in your store — written for plant conditions in Maharashtra, where monsoon humidity and 40°C summers do more damage to stock than anything on the shop floor.
| Product family | Choose it when | Where it goes wrong | Storage on site |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ethanolamines — MEA, DEA, TEA | You need a base that also emulsifies, inhibits corrosion or acts as a grinding aid. | Colour drifts on air contact as the material picks up carbon dioxide, and a colour spec that was fine on arrival fails a month later. | Drums closed and out of direct sun, 15–30°C. Use a nitrogen blanket where colour is critical, as in cosmetic-grade TEA. |
| Ethyleneamines — EDA, DETA, TETA | Epoxy curing, chelate synthesis, fuel and lubricant additives, paper wet-strength resins. | Strongly alkaline and hygroscopic. Open drums absorb moisture and carbonate, which shows up as haze and slow cure. | Sealed drums in a dry, shaded store, segregated from acids and oxidising agents. |
| Cyclic amines — morpholine, cyclohexylamine | Corrosion control in steam and condensate lines, rubber accelerator manufacture. | The vapour is the hazard, not the liquid. Low flash points make an ordinary chemical store the wrong place for them. | Flammable-goods store with ventilation. Bond and earth containers before any transfer. |
| Pharma amines — triethylamine, benzylamine | API synthesis, acid scavenging and salt formation where a monograph grade is required. | Assay and water content drift once a drum is broached, and a part-used drum fails retest. | Buy pack sizes matched to consumption. Reseal immediately and record the opening date on the drum. |
| EDTA salts — disodium, tetrasodium | General hardness and metal-ion control across roughly pH 4 to 11 in cleaning, textile and cosmetic systems. | Disodium has limited cold-water solubility and is often blamed for a dosing problem that is really a dissolution problem; tetrasodium lifts bath pH sharply. | Bags on pallets, off the floor, away from monsoon damp. Caked powder means the store, not the batch, is the issue. |
| DTPA and its sodium salts | High-alkalinity systems, peroxide bleach stabilisation and iron control where EDTA loses hold. | Overdosing strips catalyst and trace metals you wanted to keep, and quietly raises cost per batch. | Liquid grades should not be allowed to freeze or stratify. Stir before drawing from a drum that has stood. |
| HEDTA and NTA salts | Alkaline cleaner and detergent building where a lower-cost sequestrant is acceptable. | NTA carries regulatory restrictions in several export markets, which is usually discovered after the formulation is locked. | Standard dry store. Confirm destination-market rules before you formulate for export. |
| Chelated micronutrients — EDTA-Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu | Fertigation and foliar correction on the state's cane, cotton, grape and pomegranate belts. | Total metal content on a label says nothing about how much stays chelated at field pH. | Sealed packs away from light and heat. Sun on a stacked pallet degrades the chelate before it reaches the tank. |
| EDDHA-Fe 6% | Calcareous, high-pH Marathwada and Vidarbha soils where EDTA-Fe simply stops working. | Cheap material with a low ortho-ortho fraction performs poorly even when total iron looks correct. | Dry, dark store. Ask for the ortho-ortho figure on the certificate of analysis, not just total iron. |
| Phosphonates — HEDP | Scale and corrosion inhibition in cooling towers, boilers and reverse osmosis circuits. | Performance falls away under high free-chlorine dosing, which is common in shared MIDC water systems. | Corrosive liquid. Store in HDPE or lined tanks; never in bare mild steel. |
Between June and September, powdered chelates cake and bagged stock gains moisture fast. Keep bags sealed on raised pallets with air moving around them, and rotate oldest stock first.
Amines and acids must not share a bund. Oxidising agents belong nowhere near ethyleneamines. Most incidents in chemical stores come from convenient stacking, not from the material itself.
File the certificate of analysis, safety data sheet and technical data sheet against the batch number on the pack. Audits and customer complaints are both settled from that file.
